Panchathantram Review - Analysis

Not many Telugu anthologies go for theatrical release and Panchathantram is one of the rare ones to come by. The film has a host of talented actors like Bramhanandam, Colors Swati, Samuthirakani, and others in the lead roles.

Bramhanandam is very good in his role and he is ably supported by the likes of Samuthirakani, Sivatmika Rajasekhar, Rahul Vijay, and others. The film is propelled by earnest performances from the lead cast. They together put on a fine show. But the issue with anthologies is that they don’t cater to all sections of the audience. They almost entirely cater to A center and multiplex audiences. This film is no different. The novel approach, and the poetic style narrative all cater only to the classy section of the viewers. Barring the opening story, the other 4 pack decent emotional connect. Especially Samuthirakani’s story stands out with its near to life narrative and situations that resemble day to day struggles of middle class families. The background score is lively and it stays true to the theme of the anthology. It elevates a couple of emotional blocks to good effect. The cinematography is of good quality. The visual presentation is visually appealing.

Panchathantram Review - Verdict

Those who don’t mind the slow paced narrative, Panchathantram can make for a decent one time watch. The emotional drive keeps blowing hot and cold, but as a whole, the film has the desired emotional depth to make for a passable watch.
