Back in May of this year, there were reports that actor Vikram would be reuniting with Cobra director Ajay Gnanamuthu for a new film. Now, the actor and director have confirmed the project during a Spaces session with fans on Twitter while promoting Cobra, which will be released on August 31.
In response to questions from fans, social media influencers, and media, Vikram stated that the new project has a unique story and that he is excited to be a part of it. Sources on the Cobra set have been telling everyone about the great chemistry between Vikram and Ajay Gnanamuthu.
At this point in his career, the actor is also pleased to be able to work on interesting projects such as Cobra, Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan, and Karthik Subbraj's Mahaan.
He also discussed his upcoming film with acclaimed filmmaker Pa Ranjith, which is set to begin production in December. He stated that he is losing weight and growing a long beard in order to play this character in the period drama #Chiyaan61, which is set in the Kolar gold fields in the nineteenth century.
Vikram will reportedly wear ten different outfits in Cobra, an action thriller. Srinidhi Shetty of KGF fame plays the female lead in this film, which also stars cricketer Irfan Pathan. AR Rahman, an Oscar winner, composed the film's music.
