Director-actor Cheran has played a lead role in his upcoming venture, Anandham Vilayaadum Veedu, directed by Nanda Periyasamy. The film is tipped to be a family entertainer and will also feature Gautham Karthik and Shivathmika in important roles. The film will release in theatres on December 24.
In a statement, director Cheran said, "Anandham Vilayadum Veedu is very close and special to my heart, and I am not saying this just to make a statement, but something, every actor in the movie felt it by heart and soul. Although I was consciously performing my character during the shoot, I had a different experience during the screening. I almost forgot it’s me on the screen and started having tears roll down my cheeks watching that character in a few scenes. It wasn’t just me, but many actors in this film had a similar experience. This is a pure magical show by filmmaker Nanda Periyasamy. I have always desired to see him flourish as a successful moviemaker, and, am glad to see it come true with this movie. I thank producer Ranganathan sir, for being the pillar of this film. I am not sure if any other producer would have sustained the harsh challenges like Pandemic, he had faced during the production of this film. A producer like him is a boon to the industry.
