Suniel Shetty opens up about Marakkar and says it is as big as big can be!

Suniel Shetty, has acted in cameos in Malayalam movies such as Kalimannu and Kakkakuyil. He will now feature in a full-length pivotal role in Priyadarshan’s upcoming film, Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham.

The actor plays a warrior named Chandroth Panicker in the film. He told E Times about the film, the process of its making, and more!

“I think Marakkar is as big as big can be. It is not a VFX-driven film even though it has used special effects . It’s not like they have used 20 soldiers to create 2,000; they used 2,000 soldiers to create 20,000. So, there was scale even while we were shooting the movie.” He added. “My absolute favourite Chandu (Priyadarshan’s son Siddharth) was helming the affairs when it came to the visual effects. He’s a genius.

For me, it was like a father looking at his son delivering a film, and it’s beautiful how it has turned out. We had international actors – Chinese and British. It’s a huge and a beautiful film to be part of, and it shot in record time with record preparation. The combination of Mohanlal, Priyadarshan, Sabu Cyril, Tirru as the cinematographer and my little Chandu as the head of the VFX were the five fingers that definitely formed the fist.”

Antony Perumbavoor has financed the movie under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas. The film also has Thiru as the cinematographer, Sabu Cyril as production designer, and Peter Hein to take care of the action choreography. The movie, in which Mohanlal plays the role of Kunjali Marakkar IV, is set to hit theatres on March 26.
