Stephenie Meyer's young adult novel Twilight is coming out with a prequel

Stephenie Meyer recently came out with an exciting news for the avid Twilight series fans. There will now be a prequel to Twilight called Midnight Sun. The fans will get to read all about Edward Cullen and more! Fifteen years after the release of the very first addition to this series, Midnight sun is eagerly waited for. The prequel will retell the whole love story between Edward and Bella but from his point of view.

Meyer said, I am very excited to finally, finally announce the release of 'Midnight Sun' on August 4. It's a crazy time right now, and I wasn't sure if it was the right time to put this book out, but some have you have been waiting for just so, so long, it didn't seem fair to make you wait anymore," in an interview with Good Morning America.

Following that Meyer has attached a countdown on her website. Her strategy of waiting out the fans has gotten them all riled up. The eager fans were so bent on new updates about the book that the site crashed. Which only shows their enthusiasm! And the success of this book even before its actual release.

The trend of 'Team Edward or Team Jacob?' started with the widespread of Twilight among teens in mid 2000s continues onto this day. This is an exciting news for Team Edward. Meyer originally planned to release this prequel in 2008. She had to discard this plan due to an accidental manuscript leak.

She also said, "Though I didn't have time to work on it right away, the idea of letting Edward have his chance to speak stuck with me. I couldn't shake it. I found myself thinking his words in the middle of the night and jotting down phrases he would use while I was waiting in line at the post office. As soon as I finished my real work, I sat down and let Edward get his say,"
