Rahul Gandhi once sought a piece of advice from Shah Rukh Khan. The Congress leader had asked the actor if he had any advice for politicians at a 2008 event. The video of Shah Rukh responding to the query while BJP leaders like Prakash Javadekar and Ravi Shankar Prasad, as well as the then-prime minister Manmohan Singh, watched was recently published on a fan page. The politicians in the audience applauded as Shah Rukh responded politely yet clearly.
In an old video, Rahul Gandhi asked Shah Rukh Khan about his one piece of advice for politicians. Being the clever man he is, Shah Rukh laughed and remarked, “I am glad it is such a simple question.” He added, “I mean, one piece of advice all the politicians will follow, and we will have a wonderful country... and look who you asked. I lie and cheat, and do deceit for a living. I am an actor, so I am all show, nothing really is concrete inside me."
Shah Rukh continued, saying, “But you know, I would like to say that I have a huge amount of respect for people, who run the country or who have it in their hearts to run the country. It is a very selfless service. Let’s not take money under the table, you know, let’s not do shady stuff. If we do it (run the country) right, we all are going to make money, we are all going to be happy, and we can be a great and proud nation. So my advice to all politicians is please be as honest as realistically possible!”
On the video, an Instagram user wrote, "Bro, those were the times..." Another person commended Shah Rukh for his response, saying, "As honestly as realistically possible (clapping emojis)."
Shah Rukh Khan has been hard at work on his next two projects, Jawan and Dunki. He last appeared in the January 25, 2023 movie Pathaan. Shah Rukh's return to movies in a leading role after Zero (2018) was marked with the action movie. John Abraham and Deepika Padukone both appeared in the popular spy movie.
