Actor-Director Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Aadujeevitam is one of 2020’s most awaited films. Based on Benyamin’s novel of the same name, Aadujeevitam follows the tale of an immigrant worker in Saudi Arabia. The film is currently shooting in the desserts of Jordan.
With recent reports of one of the actors Talib al Balushi being quarantined, fans have raised concerns about the health of the cast and crew. Sukumaran has taken to Social Media to address concerns.
In his message, Sukumaran thanks everyone for their concern and assures the safety of the cast and crew. Sukumaran’s message gives a detailed account of the situation.
Aadujeevitam’s cast and crew are stuck in Jordan as there are no international flights operating in and out of Jordan. Sukumaran states that since they cannot leave Jordan, they can either stay put in their camp or continue shooting in a location that is a few minutes away. He goes on to say that the team has decided to go ahead with the shooting as the location and the process of filming Aadujeevitham is in itself very isolated. The team has consulted the authorities and has received permission to carry on the shooting.
Every member of the cast and crew has been screened for the virus. Two of the actors are on a precautionary quarantine. The actors are quarantined in Amman along with the other passenger who flew into Jordon on the same flight.
Sukumaran has also appealed for collective action. He states that “These are tough times. Times we need to think and act collectively.” He urges everyone to follow the instructions from authorities and even more importantly, not to panic.
