Shikhar Dhawan Speaks On His Bollywood Debut Film Double XL

The film Double XL, starring Huma Qureshi and Sonakshi Sinha, will be released in November. It will also mark the debut of Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan in the title role. With this film, the 36-year-old left-handed batsman will take on an actor's part. In an interview with a news website, Dhawan revealed that when he arrived on set, the producers taught him to dance and took it up quickly. Shikhar explained that he was instructed to dance at a certain moment, so he did it honestly, performed his part, and had fun. "I felt convinced I could pull it off," he told a news website.

Speaking more about his position, he stated that, although it is a little one, he hopes his followers enjoy him in this new avatar. Dhawan remarked that the storyline, which deals with body image concerns and society's notion of beauty, was the key reason he said yes to the film.

Shikhar said that when this chance presented itself and he heard the narrative, it profoundly impacted him. "The video intends to provide a positive message to society and can spark a discussion." "This is a beautiful message for the entire society, and I hope that many young ladies and boys will continue to pursue their aspirations no matter what," he said.

When asked how it was working on the sets, he explained that as a national athlete, life is always stressful, and watching good and enjoyable films is one of his favourite pastimes. Being on a movie set was an entirely new experience for him. For the cricketer, it was an 8-9 hour shoot that he thoroughly loved. "Everyone on set was incredibly supportive, and the director and co-star Huma Qureshi were kind and friendly throughout the shoot," he said.

Double XL, directed by Satram Ramani, will be released in theatres on November 4.
