Sanjay Dutt's 'Aakhri Sawal' gets May 15 release date after CBFC clearance, trailer drops tomorrow

The 'Aakhri Sawal' release date has been locked for May 15, 2026, following the film's clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification after weeks of uncertainty. Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt headlines the project, which will now proceed with its promotional campaign after resolving certification delays that had stalled the trailer launch.

The film is directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Abhijeet Mohan Warang and features an ensemble cast including Namashi Chakraborty, Tridha Choudhury, Amit Sadh, Neetu Chandra, and Sameera Reddy in pivotal roles. Written by Utkarsh Naithani, who handled the story, screenplay, and dialogues, the project is produced by Nikhil Nanda and Sanjay Dutt under the Nikhil Nanda Motion Pictures banner, with Puneet Nanda, Dr. Deepak Singh, Gaurav Dubey, and Ujjwal Anand serving as co-producers.

'Aakhri Sawal' will release theatrically across Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, aiming for a pan-India reach. The film's teaser, which hinted at politically and historically sensitive themes linked to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, sparked widespread online discussion for its intense tone and references to historical events — a factor that reportedly contributed to the extended CBFC review process.

With certification now complete, the makers announced the trailer launch for the following day through a new poster featuring the ensemble cast. "Tomorrow, the nation will witness the truth. The wait is over — the most awaited trailer drops tomorrow," the production team wrote on social media. "Get ready to know the answer on 15th May only in cinemas."
