Saif Ali Khan on Sacred Games 2: 'There was a time when I was a little frustrated'

Saif Ali Khan is very excited for the popular season of Netflix 'Sacred Games 2'. The actor claims that the cleverest thing he's accomplished in his life is a digital foray. In Sacred Games season 2, the actor will reprise his part of cop Sartaj Singh, following his chase for the truth behind the warning from gangster Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) to save the city.

Sartaj appeared in the first season as an under-confident policeman, and Saif stated that although there are not many changes internally, there are some in terms of his appearance. Saif also said that he has been playing this character longer than any other character. He explained about his character “wonderfully human but imperfect and flawed“.

The actor further said “He is still very imperfect, flawed character and has got addictive nature to alcohol, drugs and pills. He is very under-confident in many ways. He is wonderfully human but a big mess.” Saif had to change his physicality earlier, put on weight to get a gruesome, hard physique, but this time for a leaner look he had to get in form.

In the book, he's a Sardar who is very slim and well dressed. But he's dissatisfied and unsuitable in the show when we introduced him. Then as we move forward at some stage it feels like what Sartaj Singh is in the novel, which is fitter and leaner.
