Saif Ali Khan is one of the leading actors in Bollywood. He is an actor who has fans all over India. Born to cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and actress Sharmila Tagore, Saif followed his mother's footsteps and entered the cinema. Saif, who initially shined in romantic roles, later became a villain and a hero with a negative shade and became a colorful presence in Bollywood. Saif has often been embroiled in many controversies in his nearly thirty-year film career. Many rumors have also been circulating about the actor. Some rumors in the early days hurt him. It led to the loss of many characters even before they were established in Bollywood.

Saif Ali Khan made his film debut in May 1993 with two releases. The films were Yash Chopra's Parampara and Umesh Mehra's Aashiq Awara. In fact Saif had lost two other films before this. One of them was following the rumors that he arrived drunk on the shooting set. In an interview before his silver screen debut, Saif had said that he was mistakenly left out of the 1992 Rahul Rawali-directed Bekhudi starring Kajol as he was not interested in the film.

"I think he (Rahul) thought I wasn't interested in films and I didn't want to do the job. At that time, there were many rumors that I came to the set drunk and used to sleep on the set. All these things are in the past, but they affected me a lot,' said Saif in the interview. Saif said these rumors tarnished his reputation as a rookie actor and he could see the results. 'A lot of directors... none wanted to work with me then. Who will invest money if a young man is not serious? It was a very disturbing thing. He (Rahul) kicked me out of that film. I have never backed out of any film. Rahul ji's film is my loss,' added Saif.

Saif also said that the film produced by Sathi Shouri and directed by Anand Mahendru was another film that affected him a lot. Saif said there was an agreement in place and when it fell apart, he moved on. So after some initial hiccups, Saif started his career in the 90's but it wasn't until Farhan Akhtar's Dil Chahta Hai in 2001 that Saif really shined.
