On November 1, the late Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar was awarded the Karnataka Ratna. It is the state of Karnataka's highest civilian honor. The actor was honored during the 67th Kannada Rajyotsava. Basavaraj Bommai, the state's chief minister, attended the event alongside actors Rajinikanth and Jnr. NTR.
Rajinikanth reportedly discussed his absence at the late actor's burial last year while speaking at the occasion. Rajinikanth referred to Puneeth Rajkumar as "god's child" while speaking Kannada.
In Rajinikanth's words, even though the actor had passed away his essence was still with us. Despite being very close to Puneeth Rajkumar and his family, the actor reportedly said he was unable to attend the funeral. He claimed that he learned about Puneeth's passing only three days later. He had been hospitalized for an operation and was in poor health.
Even if he was informed of the death in time, he would not be able to travel after the operation to attend the funeral.
In October 2021, the late Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar passed away due to cardiac arrest. Puneeth is a well-known actor known for his humanitarian deeds.
