Director SS Rajamouli is doing everything he can, to take the recognition he got for his film RRR, to the next level. While the Film Federation of India (FFI) may not have chosen RRR as India's official entry to the Oscars, Rajamouli is trying his level best to ensure RRR gets an Oscar nomination. He has now inked a deal with the Hollywood agency Creative Artists Agency, which will represent him at this year's Oscar Awards.
Rajamouli has been spending a lot of time abroad, meeting with the voting members of the Academy Awards. He is also present for various screenings of RRR, where several Hollywood technicians and experts are appreciating the film.
RRR has already managed to get nominations at the Golden Globes, which is a major achievement for the film. If the film wins at least one of those awards, then that would be the first time that any Indian film has ever won a Golden Globe.
There's a huge Oscar buzz surrounding RRR. The film is expected to get nominated in multiple categories. NTR is also expected to get the Best actor nomination. If RRR manages to get at least one Oscar nomination, then it would be the first nomination for any Indian film at the Oscars, after 2001. The nominations for this year's Oscar Awards are expected to be announced shortly. On the other hand, the entire cast and crew of RRR will be present at the Golden Globe awards. RRR has been nominated in the Best Foreign Film and Best Original Song (Naatu Naatu) categories.
