Raghava Lawrence is well-known for his acting and dancing abilities, but the public has come to love him for his charitable work in the community. The choreographer-turned-actor has received an honorary doctorate owing to his philanthropic side. Lawrence has been awarded a doctorate for social service by the International Anti-corruption and Human Rights Council, which describes itself as "an Inter-Governmental Body within the United Nations system responsible for strengthening the promotion and protection of human rights."
Sharing the news and expressing his delight, Lawrence wrote, "It is a great honor for me to receive the doctorate award for social service. Heartfelt thanks to the International Anti-corruption and human rights council for honoring me with this award. It’s special to me because my mother received this award on my behalf of me." Lawrence's mother, Kanmani, received the honor on his behalf at an event held today.
On the professional front, Lawrence is almost finished with Rudhran, which will be the directing debut of producer Five Star Kathiresan. Priya Bavani Shankar plays the lead in the action-comedy, which pits Lawrence against Sarath Kumar, who plays the antagonist. He also plays the lead in the Kodi-famous Durai Senthil Kumar film Adhigaram. The script for this film has been written by national award-winning filmmaker Vetri Maaran.
In the meantime, Chandramukhi 2 will also feature Lawrence, according to a recent announcement. Vadivelu, who was also a part of the first movie that starred Superstar Rajinikanth, will appear in this one, and Lakshmi Menon is reportedly in talks to portray the female protagonist.
