Prakash Jha On Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha's Failure: They Should Work Hard And Think Original

Laal Singh Chaddha, starring Aamir Khan, performed poorly at the box office, but according to film director Prakash Jha, this was not due to a boycott trend. Aamir may have put a lot of effort into the production, but the movie doesn't have any unique elements, the man added. Prakash has a different opinion about the cancel culture than some analysts, who think it has significantly hurt the film's box office performance. The story must be good as well.

Prakash is now promoting Matto Ki Saikil, a movie in which he also stars in the lead role. On September 16, it will be shown in theaters. The director added, "It is being said that Aamir Khan's film was boycotted on social media," when speaking about Laal Singh Chaddha during the film's promotion. "If he had produced Dangal (2016) or Lagaan (2001) and the movie hadn't performed well, we would have known that the boycott was to blame. However, the bulk of viewers of your movie isn't giving it high marks. I haven't yet come across someone who has said, 'Wow, what a film it was."

He continued by saying, "I agree you have worked and tried hard but when there is no such factor in your content, you can't say it didn't do well because of the boycott", after expressing his appreciation for Aamir.

They should create stories that are grounded', he continued. 'Hindi-speaking individuals are conversing, but what are they creating? They only produce remakes at a rapid pace. Stop making movies if you don't have a tale to tell. People have become lazy, so they should work hard and think original'.

Laal Singh Chaddha, which was produced and directed by Advait Chandan, is the authorized remake of the Tom Hanks-starring Forrest Gump movie from Hollywood. Kareena Kapoor Khan, Naga Chaitanya, and Mona Singh all have significant roles in the Hindi adaptation. The movie debuted on August 11 with extremely low results. Aamir would have expected stronger theatrical chances after a four-year break. That isn't the case, though, as the movie ended up being one of 2022's biggest flops.
