The current situation of India has attracted nationwide attention. After the BJP government passed the CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act), the country got divided into two. On one side where people are criticising the act, the other side stands strongly in support of it. And now, Pink Floyd's lead guitarist and co-founder Roger Waters has reacted to CAA. During an event in London demanding the release of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, Roger Waters called the BJP government fascist.
He further recited the poem by Delhi based poet Aamir Aziz.
"Everything will be remembered.
Killers, we will become ghosts and writeoff of your killings,
with all the evidence.
You write jokes in courts,
we will write justice on the walls.
We will speak so loudly that even the deaf will hear.
We will write so clearly that even the blind will read.
You write injustice on the earth,
We will write revolution in the sky."
In the end, Roger Waters praised Aamir Aziz and said that he has a long future.
Aamir Aziz had written the poem in January against the Citizenship Amendment Act. After the attacks on students in Jawaharlal Nehru University, Aamir was furious with the condition and he performed and recited the poem in Hyderabad on the occasion of Republic Day. The current situation of the country hasn't got any better. There has been massive protests nationwide. The recent one being in the national capital where 35 people are dead and many injured. The widespread unrest in India over religion has become a topic of debate all over the globe.
