Pathaan Starring Shah Rukh Khan Reopens 25 Closed Single-Screen Theatres Nationwide

The biggest stars in the nation, Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham, appear in Pathaan. The movie is a part of Aditya Chopra's ambitious spy world. The heart-pounding movie Pathaan, from Yash Raj Films, is scheduled for release on January 25, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. According to information we have verified, given the unprecedented buzz and hype surrounding the movie, several single-screen theatres that closed due to COVID-19 will reopen with Pathaan.

With Pathaan, the fourth movie in the YRF Spy Universe, the production company Yash Raj Films is encouraging more theatres to reopen. The largest film company in India, YRF, is contributing to the effort to restore the theatre environment to its pre-Covid levels following the pandemic. Shah Rukh Khan's stardom and the excitement surrounding Pathaan may bring forth a new era for the theatre industry.

Trade expert Taran Adarsh explained the significance of this reopening. He also spoke about the effects it will have on industry business and Pathaan's box office. He said, “It is great news. With this, you are actually reviving the business, and giving a livelihood for so many people involved with the running of these theatres. Even for the business of the film, this contributes a major chunk of money. Multiplexes can hold nearly 50 shows a day, while single screens can go with 4 or 5 shows, but that does not take away the fact that there is a massive audience chunk that patronizes these theatres. Also while multiplexes are predominant in metro cities, single screens have greater market penetration in mass-dominated sectors and tier 2 cities. So you are effectively reaching a larger audience.”

Taran Adarsh further added that Pathaan's business will tremendously gain from this. He added, “Unlike multiplexes, single screens have a lower ticket cost so that essentially gets a whole segment of audience into theatres to watch films. For whatever reason those cinemas were shut, and re-opening with Pathaan also proves the anticipation and buzz for the film among the audience. Basically, the hype for the film is so much that theatres have decided to resume business, meaning there was sense and profit to be made for both the theatre owner and film producer in this. So yes, these theatres re-opening will have a highly positive effect on the business of Pathaan.”

The 25 theatres' names have been made public by YRF:

1) Kohinoor Cinema, Suratgarh, Rajasthan. 2) Gem Cinema, Jaipur, Rajasthan. 3) Geeta Talkies, Hindaun, Rajasthan. 4) Sangam Cinema, Khandela, Rajasthan. 5) Dreamlight Cinema, Sujangarh, Rajasthan. 6) Prakash Talkies, Nawalgarh, Rajasthan. 7) JRC Movie Palace, Fatehpur, Rajasthan. 8) Jyoti Cinema, Indore, Madhya Pradesh. 9) Carnival R Mall, Mulund, Mumbai. 10) Cinekamla Ponda, Goa. 11) Prabhat Talkies, Gondia, Maharashtra. 12) Lajwanti Talkies, Bishrampur, Chhattisgarh. 13) Prabhat Talkies, Bina, Madhya Pradesh. 14) SGL Heritage Cinema, Almora, Uttarakhand. 15) Gyan Cinema, Mahmudabad, Uttar Pradesh. 16) Carnival TGIP Cinema, Noida, Uttar Pradesh. 17) PDR Cinema, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. 18) M Cinema, Bindki, Uttar Pradesh. 19) Kavita Cinema, Loni, Uttar Pradesh. 20) Rama Cinema, Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. 21) Cineshine Cinema, Chhibramau, Uttar Pradesh. 22) J.C.
