Hrithik Roshan, who appeared in Siddharth Anand's previous blockbuster War in 2019, is gushing about his new directorial Pathaan. He took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the film and to congratulate Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham on their roles. Pathaan was released in theatres worldwide on Wednesday.

Siddharth Anand's previous film, War, was also a box-office success. It earned a total of 475 crores worldwide. The film starred Hrithik and Tiger Shroff as the male leads, with Vaani Kapoor playing an important role. In Karan Johar's 2001 film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. Hrithik played Shah Rukh's older brother, and he is currently working on his first film with Deepika Padukone. Siddharth Anand's next action film is titled Fighter.
Pathaan revolves around the titular spy Pathaan (Shah Rukh Khan). He returns from exile to prevent the terrorist group Outfit X, led by Jim (John Abraham), from launching a crippling attack on India. Deepika Padukone also has an interesting role in the film, as well as several action scenes. Salman Khan makes a cameo appearance as his screen character Tiger in Pathaan.
On Thursday, the film grossed a whopping 106 crore worldwide. The film had the "biggest opening day in the history of Hindi cinema," according to production house Yash Raj Films (YRF). Pathaan has surpassed the expectations of industry experts. They were banking on the action spectacle to rescue Bollywood from the grips of the pandemic and a string of box-office duds. Pathaan follows Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), and Hrithik Roshan's 2019 film War. It is the fourth film in producer Aditya Chopra's ambitious spy universe.
