Director Lingusamy Has Been Sentenced For 6 Months Imprisonment By Saidapet Court
The Anjaan director has been accused of not paying back the money he took from a production company. The director has now gone to Madras High Court to counter the ruling of Saidapet Court.
The Saidapet court has sentenced director Lingusamy, who is well-known for helming multiple commercial successes, to six months in prison. Production business PVP Capital has launched a lawsuit against director Lingusamy because he failed to pay back the cash he had borrowed from the company. Director Lingusamy has reportedly surrendered a cheque quoting the loan money to the production house. However, the director hasn't returned the loan money, and the check he turned in bounced.
The judge who heard the case today at the Saidapet session court has sentenced Lingusamy and his brother Subash Chandra to six months in prison. Lingusamy, however, has chosen to re-appeal the Saidapet court's ruling at Madras High Court. The Tamil-Telugu bilingual "The Warriorr," which starred Ram Pothineni and Kirthi Shetty in the key characters, was the director Lingusamy's previous effort, but it fell short of expectations. A bilingual drama starring Allu Arjun had been previously announced by Lingusamy, but the project stalled after its initial announcement.
