Like many other actors and celebrities, Abhay Deol has taken up painting as a hobby amid the ongoing lockdown. Deol has shared many of his paintings on his social media handles. In his latest post-Deol has shared a painting of an underprivileged woman. Deol emphasized on the importance of such a painting as he believes that the underprivileged are the worst hit by Coronavirus in India.
In addition to this Deol also slammed those who are giving the pandemic a communal term. He captioned his painting with a powerful statement. He wrote, "Trying to get back into drawing/painting. Couldn't help but draw the people most affected by the pandemic. I should try and work on happier themes! But living in a country that fans communal hatred even through a pandemic, with a media that is itself biased and divisive, where there is active disinformation everywhere manipulating people, where your nationalism is more important than your humanity, I guess this woman is appropriate."
Previously Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to share a similar message urging people to show harmony and solidarity in such difficult times. He said that Coronavirus does not see one's religion and can attack anyone and everyone who belongs to the affected state.
Meanwhile, Abhay Deol also shared a decade-old picture of himself with his fans. He captioned it writing, "My friend sent me these pics from when I lived in NYC 11 years ago! I have no pictures of my own from that time. Brought back memories. What a time that was, running as far away as I could from the attention I was getting. Age has definitely helped me accept many things stardom brings with it."
