She claims that kids simply observe the on-screen ladies and want to imitate them. They merely desire to dress in the attire displayed on film by the actors. Parekh continued, "I'm really sad about westernisation." Her remarks went viral as soon as they were shared on social media. Her ideas were scorned by internet users as being "regressive." She is also receiving criticism for her remarks about plus-sized women who dress in contemporary fashion. But Asha Parekh's admirers spoke up for her. They asserted that the remarks made by the seasoned actor were misinterpreted. Jaya Bachchan has made waves for her remarks on Indian ladies who favour wearing western clothing. The senior actress claims that wearing western clothing gives a woman "manpower."
