The film was previously referred to as Capsule Gill, but the final title, approved by the makers, is The Great Indian Rescue.
According to a source, the title suits the plot and has a strong impact. The film revolves around former additional chief mining engineer, Jaswant Singh Gill, who saved the lives of 65 people trapped in a flooded coal mine in Raniganj, West Bengal. It was shot in Yorkshire. It features Akshay Kumar in a turbaned look. The first look of his character has already generated a lot of buzz.
The Great Indian Rescue also stars Parineeti Chopra. It is produced by Pooja Entertainment. It is directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, who previously worked with Akshay Kumar on the 2016 courtroom drama, Rustom.
