'Acharya' became the greatest flop in Chiranjeevi's career. Koratala Siva, the director, was chastised for producing such a disaster. Things turned heated when a group of exhibitors who incurred heavy losses protested against Koratala Siva.
According to current information, several exhibitors who have lost money by purchasing the film are suing Koratala Siva for compensation. They have been protesting outside Koratala's office since last night, claiming that they have lost Rs.15 crores due to this film and seeking compensation for their investment losses.
When questioned why they were seeking money from Koratala Siva, they allegedly disclosed that Koratala Siva snatched the film from the producers and sold it to potential buyers. The exhibitors have reportedly threatened to stage a dharna outside Chiranjeevi's home if they are not paid. Since this morning, the word has spread like wildfire on social media. However, there is no available information or notification in this regard.
According to trade sources, despite being filmed on an estimated budget of Rs 140 crore, the audience reception of Acharya has been so bad that it collected only Rs 76 crore at the global box office. The film is currently considered one of Telugu cinema's all-time greatest flops. In crucial parts, the film also featured Ram Charan, Pooja Hegde, Sonu Sood, Jisshu Sengupta, Kishore, Saurav Lokesh, Nassar, Ajay, Tanikella Bharani, Vennela Kishore, and others. Acharya's technical team comprises music composer Mani Sharma, cinematographer S Thirunavukarasu, and editor Navin Nooli.
