Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is back with a bang with his latest film Pathaan, which has been directed by Siddharth Anand. The movie has been released today, on January 25th.

Pathaan Review- Story

Pathan is an ex-army man who gets caught on a mission. He is given the task of saving his country from a former RAW agent Jim, who went rogue after being wronged by his own kin. The story also involves Rubina, an ex-ISI agent, who leaves you questioning her loyalties often. How do all these people come together and what is the mission that they are working on, forms the rest of the story.

Pathaan Review- Analysis

Director Siddharth Anand has come up with an out-and-out action entertainer in the form of Pathan. The film features SRK returning to form after 4 years, and the actor is at his usual best. Not only the drama, but SRK excels in the action sequences as well, which have been choreographed to perfection. The action is so good that it reminds you of various Hollywood action films, and not one frame looks dull.

Pathan also features beautiful locations and landscapes, all of which pump up the story. The screenplay written by Shridhar Raghavan is also good, as he sticks to a non-linear screenplay, which keeps you hooked to the film. Mostly, Pathan is very entertaining, except towards the climax, which is where it feels as though the film is being lagged beyond necessity.

Deepika Padukone, who is seen as Rubina in the film, also does a fantastic job with what she's given. The actress is highly comfortable in her role, and it translates onto the screen. She has a good scope to perform, and even though she has lesser screentime when compared to SRK and John Abraham, she still manages to shine within the scope that she's given. The actress also excels in her action sequences, where she looks equally comfortable.

John Abraham is given a role that has depth and a very well-etched-out backstory. He is perfect as the big brooding baddie and takes you along with him for a ride. The back stories with which each character has been written and introduced are fantastic, as they provide a really good depth to the entire movie and the characters that we see interacting together on screen. The backstories help you understand each character's motivations, which makes for really good drama.

Ashutosh Rana and Dimple Kapadia are seen in supporting roles and provide good gravitas to the story. They perfectly lend to the story and shine through in the scope that they have been given in the story and on the big screen. A special mention is to be given to the cinematography department, which has made every frame look beautiful and interesting. The whole look and feel of the film has been perfectly portrayed in every frame.

Pathaan Review - Verdict

Pathaan is a feast for SRK's fans who have been missing him in action all these years. The actor is most certainly back with Pathaan, and the four-year wait feels definitely worth it.
