Dil Raju seems to have lost a lot, apart from just money, by sticking to releasing Vaarasudu during the Sankranthi festival, even though he was suggested not to.
Many industry specialists suggested producer Dil Raju to not release his film for Sankranthi this year. This is because there were other bigger films ready for release during Sankranthi. With the likes of Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya, Vaarasudu had really slim chances of working out in the Telugu states.
The Tamil version of the version, Varisu, was released on January 11th, and the initial plan was to release Vaarasudu on the same date as well. However, realizing that the film wouldn't get many theatres in the Telugu states if he stuck to the release date, Vaarasudu's release was pushed.
Despite that, Vaarasudu failed to get any attention in the Telugu states and has turned out to be a disaster. With the decision to release the film for Sankranthi and not on another date, Dil Raju seems to have lost a lot of credibilities. Moreover, all the interviews that he gave ahead of the film's release also drew a lot of criticism. The producer sounded really overconfident about the movie. Dil Raju also resorted to talking a lot about himself, which was unlike him.
All these things cost a lot and put the producer in damage control mode. He is said to be taking the advice of his in-house directors. He is also said to be looking to sign films with big actors, to make up for the major misstep he took. Apart from Ram Charan and Shankar's film, Dil Raju wants to sign on more top actors and bounce back well in Telugu.
