AP to release 15 tmc water from Telugu Ganga to Chennai
To meet the drinking water requirements of the Chennai residents, the AP government decided to release 15 tmc water to Tamil Nadu’s capital through Telugu Ganga. Instructions were given to Chief Engineer based at Kurnool for the release of water. The GO issued stated that water should be released from the Pothireddypadu head regulator once the Srisailam dam reaches full capacity. The government also wrote a letter seeking approval of the Krishna River Management Board for releasing water to Chennai for drinking purpose.
