Venkatesh's iconic blockbuster Preminchukundham Raa completes 23 years; Tell us your favourite scene from the movie

Venkatesh is the prime league star of Telugu Cinema, who rose to that stage with his simple, light films which are mostly family drama & rom-com. Most of his filmography consists of films dealing with human emotions & relationships. Venkatesh also did a slice of life films, and they made him the star he is today. Unlike the others in the league, he did less commercial films time to time to maintain their market. Among many, one such film is 'Preminchukundam Raa'. It's an action-romance film, which tells the story of a man who visits her sister town to pursue his career interest and falls in love with women in the neighbourhood, whose family has a history of violence and politics.

 

Love Stories are not welcomed in Telugu cinema during the '90s as the trend was different then. During those days, people showed interest in watching the films dealing with relationship conflicts among married couple & meta-fantasy. One can say that this film is the first full-length love story of that decade. 'Swara Brahma' Manisharam is the music director of the film and the audio album became an instant chartbuster. Upon its release, the film received critical acclaim and became a box-office blockbuster, and went onto become a landmark film.

 

Directed by Jayanth C. Paranjee, the film marks his debut. Suresh Babu under 'Suresh Productions' produced the film. Story by Deenraj, screenplay was written by iconic-duo Paruchuri Brothers. It was the first Telugu movie to run 100 days in more than 50 centres.
