Veteran Bollywood actress Ratna Pathak Shah has said that she thinks RRR to be regressive. RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli and starring Jr. NTR and Ram Charan, is his most recent blockbuster. The magnum opus has received much praise from all across the country. It appears that not everyone shares the general consensus.
Speaking at a book event, she attacked the movie. She claimed that while it is popular today, RRR is a regressive film. The actress continued by saying that although we should look forward, the movie looks back. She was also cited as adding that one thinks that whatever we are doing is fine since we are a part of the biggest democracy, India. She also said that one would have to see movies like RRR unless directors can see their work critically.
Meanwhile, RRR has received two nominations at the Golden Globes. The nominations are for Best Non-English Language Film and Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu. The makers wrote, sharing the news on social media, "We are very grateful to share that #RRRMovie made it to the nominations of #GoldenGlobes. For the Best Picture- Non-English Language and the Best Original Song.”
Ram Charan and Jr. NTR play freedom fighters Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem in the film. The film chronicles the unrecorded period of both revolutionaries' life. This period of obscurity before they started fighting forms the crux of the story. The film also features significant roles for Shriya Saran, Ajay Devgn, and Alia Bhatt.
Backrolled by D. V. V. Danayya's banner, M. M. Keeravani rendered the song and background score for the drama. The film's technical crew includes K. K. Senthil Kumar as the cinematographer. A. Sreekar Prasad is the editor of the film.
