The teaser of Mission Majnu, starring popular Bollywood actors Sidharth Malhotra and Rashmika Mandana will be released tomorrow. The movie is directed by Shantanu Bagchi. Fans have been awaiting more updates ever since the movie was announced.
Sidharth Malhotra's recent film Thank God did not perform well as expected. But his popularity remains undiminished, thanks to Shershaah's (2021) enormous success. This patriotic war picture, produced by Karan Johar, earned him many awards. The anticipation for Mission Majnu is therefore very high. Like Shershaah, this is also a periodic and patriotic drama. Mission Majnu, like its co-star Kiara Advani's film, will not get a theatrical release. The movie's production team has revealed that it would be available on Netflix on January 20.
Significant information on the movie has gets disclosed. A source said, “Rashmika Mandanna is paired opposite Sidharth Malhotra in Mission Majnu. This will be a very unique role for her as she plays a blind woman, a first for her. She plays the love lady of Sidharth and that she is blind makes for an important aspect of the storyline.”
“Rashmika Mandanna had to extensively prep in order to convincingly play a blind character. She even did her research before coming on the sets. The makers are excited about the romantic angle between her and Sidharth Malhotra and believe that it’ll work big time with the audiences”, the source added. It also features Sharib Hashmi in a major role.
Rashmika Mandanna started her career by working in Kannada movies. Her first movie was Kirik Party (2016). She quickly gained recognition in Telugu cinema as well, followed by Tamil cinema with Sulthan (2021). With the release of Pushpa: The Rise - Part 01 (2021), her popularity increased well. The dubbed Hindi version had an unexpected sleeper success the previous year.
With the release of Goodbye (2022) earlier this year, Rashmika Mandanna made her Bollywood film debut. The movie also includes Amitabh Bachchan as her father. She will next perform in Pushpa 2: The Rule and Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor.
