Recently, the FEFSI chief Selvamani had issued a press statement requesting the film fraternity to help their colleagues in need. Many actors come forward to help. Now, Ponniyin Selvan Actor Jayam Ravi has also donated to help the unemployed.
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Tamil film and television industries have halted all productions. This has left a sea of daily wage workers with a job. Some of the migrant workers are now on the streets. The FEFSI has devised a plan to help them out. Many stars including Sivakumar, Suriya, Karthi, Sivakarthikeyan, Rajinikanth, Prakash Raj, Vijay Sethupathi, Yogi Babu and others have been helping by providing money and essentials to the FEFSI members. Jayam Ravi has too joined film his fellow actors in helping the FEFSI members. He has donated a sum of 5 lacks to the fund.
Jayam Ravi's projects, 'Bhoomi', 'Ponniyin Selvan' and 'Jana gana mana' were going steady until the COVID-19 outbreak. However, with the outbreak, the films have halted all production or postponed releases. Bhoomi is an action drama. This will be the actor's 25th film. Bhoomi is also the female lead, Nidhhi Agerwal Tamil Debut. "Jana gana mana," is a patriotic drama wherein Ravi will play an army officer. Ponniyin Selvan, on the other hand, is a historical drama written and directed by Mani Ratnam. All the films' release date has been pushed.
