The Karnataka Government recently announced new Covid-19 guidelines because of the spike in positive cases in the state. In around eight districts, the Karnataka government has cut down the theatre occupancy from 100 per cent to 50 per cent. This decision has not gone down well with the celebrities in the Kannada film industry. Theatres in Bengaluru Urban and Rural including within BBMP limits, Mysuru, Kalaburagi, Dakshin Kannada, Udupi, Bidar and Dharwad have been asked o follow the new rules. Recently, Puneeth Rajkumar and Sayyeshaa's Yuvarathnaa hit the theatres. Due to this decision, the theatrical collections of Yuvarathnaa is sure to suffer. Hence, Puneet has appealed to the Karnataka government to rethink the decision.
Goin bk to 50% theatrical occupancy is surely a shocker to a film tats jus released. Respecting the govts decision too is our duty, keeping in mind its for a reason. I wsh team #Yuvaratna the best of strength to over come this situation and come out victorious. @hombalefilms
