Early Childhood Association Slams Salman Khan's Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan For 'Senseless' Use Of Nursery Rhymes

Salman Khan's recent dance track, Let's Dance Chotu Motu, in the movie Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan has faced backlash for using old nursery rhymes. The Early Childhood Association criticized the inclusion of rhymes like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Jack and Jill, and Humpty Dumpty without context. The association called for the film industry to exercise caution with children's content. It called on Bollywood to avoid promoting "senseless" rhymes.

Dr. Swati Popat Vats, the Early Childhood Association's president, penned an open letter to the film industry. She expressed concern that the movie glorifies outdated rhymes while parents and schools are moving away from them. The letter also challenges the film's message about empathy and care for children. Vats states, "I don't think these lyricists and music directors are aware that these rhymes are not actually nursery rhymes. They are actually snide songs used to comment on rivals and kings." The film, featuring Venkatesh, Pooja Hegde, Jagapati Babu, Jassi Gill, Raghav Juyal, Siddharth Nigam, Bhumika Chawla, Bhagyashree, Shehnaaz Gill, Vijender Singh, and Palak Tiwari, hit theaters on April 21. It has earned approximately ₹84.84 crore domestically. However, the ECA's critique sparked a debate on the use of nursery rhymes in Bollywood films and their impact on young audiences.
