Diya Mehta Jatia, sister of Shloka Ambani, shared pictures of her Met Gala experience on social media. She attended the event wearing a green skirt and black halter top, with an elaborate bejeweled hairstyle. The fashion consultant splits her time between London and Mumbai. She shared her thoughts on the event and her India-inspired outfit designed by Prabal Gurung. “For me, fashion is all about breaking barriers and blending cultures, and today seemed the perfect way to do that! I’m honored to represent my heritage on this global platform by adding a touch of India to this stunning Prabal Gurung outfit. An unforgettable night of glamour, fashion, and art awaits!” she wrote.
Sagarika Ghatge and fashion designer Prabal Gurung also commented on her post. Gurung designed Diya's outfit, which was made up of a jade green duchesse satin sculptural draped skirt and a black duchesse satin halter. He shared Diya's photo on Instagram and wrote, "Diya Mehta Jatia wears an Atelier Prabal Gurung… to the 2023 Met Gala."
Earlier, Diya had shared a video on her Instagram Stories of herself and Isha Ambani struggling to climb the stairs after walking the Met Gala red carpet. In the clip, they tried not to trip as a member of the Met Gala team held their phone and tried to help them out. Isha, who has attended Met Gala a few times in the past, also wore a Prabal Gurung outfit for the event, opting for a black saree-inspired look.
The Met Gala was held on May 1 in New York, with attendees including Priyanka Chopra, Natasha Poonawalla, Isha Ambani, Alia Bhatt, and Diya Mehta Jatia.
