It looks like Kapil is all set to make his sit-com debut banking on his popularity as a comedian and host! Sources say that Kapil Sharma is gearing up to star in a digital sit-com in association with Sony LIV.
A source spoke to a popular daily about his plans. “A TV superstar aside, Kapil has always aspired to be an actor, and his debut film, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon was a big success. He has been on the hunt for the right script for a while now, and in the midst of that, has zeroed down on a web-show for Sony LIV app. The show is a sit-com fronted by Kapil and will go on the floors by August end in Mumbai,” said the source.
“He will be shooting for the first season for approximately 60 days. And then depending on the audience reception, the team will decide on season 2,” the source added.
The source also clarified that the show is not going to be anything related to stand-up. It will be a proper comedy show, the source added.
According to reports, Kapil is also looking forward to signing on to appear in feature films. However, more details of this will come our way when the industry returns to normalcy. “At the moment, his focus is on the web-series and The Kapil Sharma Show,” informed the source.
