Brahmastra's Dialogues Have Received Harsh Criticism; Ayan Mukerji Responds, I Thought This Would Give The Film A Soul

Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva, directed by Ayan Mukerji, has been doing well at the Indian box office and is getting a lot of positive feedback from viewers who are enjoying its grand scope and ambitious vision. Brahmastra was the brainchild of Ayan Mukerji, who has dedicated ten years of his life to it since its thought in 2012. The project receives a lot of praise, but it also gets criticized for its dialogues and writing. Ayan Mukerji responded to the criticism of the movie in an interview following the movie's release.

When Ayan Mukerji was questioned about the movie receiving harsh criticism for its dialogue and screenplay, Ayan acknowledged and inquired about the specific scenes and whether the criticism affected the entire movie. “I thought this would give the film a soul. That the greatest energy comes from within you and the greatest form of energy is when you are in a state of love. It may have sounded better on paper than it came across to certain people".

Ayan gave the example of how after the release of their debut song, Kesariya, he faced backlash for the song's inclusion of the line "Love Storiyan" during the first 48 hours. "The song continued to be a blockbuster, and nobody talks about it today. So, a point was noted. But India has a diverse audience.”

Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva is doing well at the box office and has passed the Rs. 150 crore net and Rs. 250 crore gross marks worldwide. Part 2 of Brahmastra, which Ayan Mukerji plans to release in late 2025, will pick up where Part 1 left off. He acknowledged that the movie's writing will be back and forth.
