Bholaa: Karthi Admits He Can't Wait To See Ajay Devgn In The Hindi Remake Of Kaithi; Talks About Working With Him On Yuva

Karthi is now on a high thanks to the positive reception he has received for Ponniyin Selvan aka PS 1, in which he plays Vanthiyathevan. The actor is pleased to see the Hindi remake of the 2019 hit movie Kaithi, for which he earned a lot of praise. Ajay Devgn will not only play the major role in the Hindi version of the film, but he will also direct it. His fourth picture as a director will also have his friend and fellow actress Tabu in a significant part.

According to actor Karthi, who spoke to PTI about Ajay Devgn's performance as a prisoner in Bholaa, "A lot of people called me and they wanted to buy the rights to Kaithi, but then Ajay sir was the first one to get it. I'm really glad that he is doing the Hindi remake and he is directing it as well.” The actor stated that he would stay faithful to the movie.

Karthi also disclosed how he had previously collaborated with the celebrity. He continued by recalling his time spent as an assistant director on the film Yuva, which also starred Vivek Oberoi, Abhishek Bachchan, and Ajay Devgn as leads. He said, "When I worked in Yuva as an assistant director, I saw him perform up close. I have always loved the intensity in his eyes and the way he is relaxed when he's performing a scene. He brings a certain intensity to all the characters that he plays. I also love when he does the action. When he came in Gangubai Kathiawadi, I was clapping. So I know when he's going to play my character in Bholaa, he'll do an entirely different job."

Karthi also approved of all the artistic changes that will be made to the Hindi version. "I'm looking forward to seeing what will be the take that he's going to give. I'm sure he'll have some changes to it, creatively, and he will explore it more. So I'm very eager to watch Bholaa."

He also mentioned how much he adored Tabu. In the movie Kaithi, he played a prisoner who was given the responsibility of assisting poisoned officers in the hospital in exchange for his release. On October 25, 2019, Kaithi was released, while Bholaa is anticipated to visit theatres in the first half of 2020.
