Doordarshan has recently started re-telecasting the epic show Ramayan in response to public demand. This has given actor Arun Govil the opportunity to share his glory days with his family.
Arun Govil embodied the role of 'Lord Ram,' in Doordarshan's hit show Ramayan in the 1980s. The show air during the time period 1987-1988. Arun Govil shot to fame as "Lord Ram." The re-telecast has the actor the opportunity to reminisce glory days and share the same with his family. The actor has been reportedly watching the re-run with his family. Photography of Govil watching the series with his grandchildren has gone viral on social media.
Talking about why it is important to watch Ramayan, Arun said, "The new generation will get a chance to watch it. They will get to understand the morals, teachings, and values of Ramayan. If they will watch it with the family, they can interact also. If they have queries then their family members of the older generation can explain things. It is a family show. How relationships should be...has been shown in the show. Positivity is there. Right now there is a lockdown, you can't go anywhere. So watching it will be a good way to use the time."
Ramayan was created, written, and directed by Ramanand Sagar. The show also Deepika Chikalia as Sita, Arvind Trivedi as Raavan and Dara Singh as Hanuman.
You can catch the re-telecast on Doordarshan. One episode will be telecasted in the morning from 9 am to 10 am every day, while another will be telecasted from 9 pm to 10 pm.
