AR Rahman's 99 Songs To Premiere On Colors Tamil On August 22

AR Rahman made his debut as a producer and a screenwriter with 99 Songs, which was released in theatres, early this year. The film hit the screens a few weeks before the second week of the novel coronavirus pandemic. 99 Songs is a musical love story directed by Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy. It stars Ehan Bhat and Edilsy Vargas in lead roles. The film was also dubbed in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages. A few months after the film's theatrical release, 99 Songs will be aired on Colors Tamil on August 22 at 1 pm and 4 pm back to back. The television channel has deemed the film as Movie of the Month.

In a statement, AR Rahman commented about the film's television premiere. He said, "I am extremely thrilled and ecstatic that my film 99 Songs is all set to air on television with a popular channel like Colors Tamil. Since it is my first film under the YM banners, I am excited to know how the audience would enjoy the cinematic experience. Writing for 99 Songs has helped me push my boundaries as a musician and, I hope people are able to resonate with my score, besides enjoying the film.” The film's songs were a huge hit in multiple languages.
