Director Kathir And Composer AR Rahman Join Hands For A Musical Love Story After 19 Years

In the 90s, director Kathir and composer AR Rahman have worked together in hit films such as Kadhal Desam, Kadhalar Dhinam and Uzhavan. All these three films have had super hit songs as part of the albums. After Kadhal Virus in 2002, director Kathir hasn't donned the director's hat for almost two decades. Now, after 19 years, Kathir is all set to make a film with a debutant playing the lead role. For his film, AR Rahman has been roped in to compose for the film. Reportedly, this film will be a musical love story. Currently, the makers are finalising the rest of the cast and crew of the film.

Director Kathir told the Times of India, “I had done a Kannada film in 2016. I had also been working on a couple of international films. I have been getting offers to direct during these years, but things fell in place only now. This new film’s producer, Ranganathan, had approached me because he wanted to launch his son, Kishore. Since I’ve introduced many new actors, I felt I can also launch a producer’s son this time. Like all my films, this one will also be a love story. It will be a musical love story.“
