Vedaant won five gold medals in swimming at the Malaysian Invitational Age Group Championships. Madhavan shared a note about the proud moment on his social media accounts. 'With Gods grace and all your wishes Vedaant gets 5 golds for India ( 50, 100,200,400 & 1500m) with 2 PB’s at the Malaysian invitational age group championships,2023 held this weekend in Kuala Lumpur. Elated and very grateful,' Madhavan tweeted. Later, many people came to the stage to congratulate Vedaant.
Earlier, Vedaant achieved a record in the 48th National Junior Aquatic Championship. Finishing the 1500m freestyle in 16:01:73, Vedaant broke the record of 16:06:43 set by Aidan Page in 2017.
Vedaant was also part of the Indian team that won silver in the relay at the Asian Age Group Championship in 2021. Vedaant became a star by winning three gold medals and one silver medal in the Junior Aquatic Championship. Vedaant also won the first medal for India in an international swimming competition held in Thailand earlier.
