Trouble mounts Chidambaram as CBI officials visit his house again to arrest him over INX Media Case

CBI officials visit former finance minister P Chidambaram's house again to arrest him in connection with the INX media case. The former finance minister is untraceable since Tuesday evening. The CBI had pasted notice on the wall outside Chidambaram's house in Delhi asking him to appear before the probe team on Tuesday evening. The Delhi High Court had rejected his anticipatory bail petition. Chidambaram's lawyer wrote to CBI and requested them not to take coercive action till the hearing on Chidambaram's anticipatory bail plea in Supreme Court. Hearing on Chidambaram's plea will begin at 10:30 am in Supreme Court.

CBI officials had visited Chidambaram's house on Tuesday evening and left after confirming that he was not home. A team of ED officials had also visited Chidambaram's house.

P Chidambaram is accused of committing irregularities by exercising his influence over FIPB to help INX media. INX Media had got FIPB clearance for Rs 4.62-crore influx but received Rs 305 crore by selling its shares at Rs 800 per unit. P Chidambaram accused of helping his son Karti Chidambaram get favors from INX media.

The CBI had registered an FIR on May 2017 in the INX Media case. Based on the CBI case, the ED had also launched a money-laundering probe.

P Chidambaram has denied the allegations and said that he was being targeted by the BJP-led government for political reasons.

ಯುಪಿಎ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸಚಿವರಾಗಿ ಮೆರೆದವರಿಗೆ ಈಗ ಬಂಧನದ ಭೀತಿ ಎದುರಾಗಿದೆ. ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಹಣಕಾಸು ಖಾತೆ ಮಾಜಿ ಸಚಿವ ಪಿ.ಚಿದಂಬರಂಗೆ ಸಿಬಿಐನಿಂದ ಬಂಧನದ ಭೀತಿ ಎದುರಾಗಿದೆ. ಚಿದು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಣಾ ಜಾಮೀನು ಅರ್ಜಿಯನ್ನು ದೆಹಲಿ ಹೈಕೋರ್ಟ್ ವಜಾಗೊಳಿಸಿದೆ. ಇದರಿಂದಾಗಿ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಣಾ ಜಾಮೀನು ಕೋರಿ ಸುಪ್ರೀಂಕೋರ್ಟ್ ಗೆ ಚಿದಂಬರಂ ಅರ್ಜಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
