Vetri, an Indian Army captain stationed in a border town in the "north east," is portrayed by a wooden Arya in the film Captain. We are never told where state the action takes place in, despite the fact that the entire movie is set in the "north east." No one from the Northeast appears in the movie either. Perhaps Captain can also claim to be "the first Tamil film set in the northeast without having any connection to the northeast."
Arya is first shown as the charismatic commander leading an Army operation. But because the writing is so copycat and weak, you don't feel any tension as to what is happening (other than a mild concern about having to sit through this for two hours, that is).
