The police said that Shariq, who was arrested in connection with the explosion case in Mangalore, has links with the international terrorist organisation Islamic State. Karnataka Police ADGP Alok Kumar stated that a detailed investigation has been started into Shariq's terrorist connection. It was revealed that Shariq organised the fake SIM card from Coimbatore. He planned a big blast in Mangalore city. But accidentally, the bomb exploded in the auto rickshaw.

 
It is clear to the police that Arafat Ali and Muzaffir Hussain are also behind the Mangalore blasts. The police have informed that they will be divided into five teams to investigate. The ADGP said that Surendran, a native of Ooty, is also in custody in connection with the blast. It was revealed that the explosive materials were purchased online. These were later combined in a rented house to make a bomb. The plan was to attack a public place. Naguri bus stand was chosen for this. But unexpectedly, the bomb exploded in the auto rickshaw. According to the police, the main accused, Shariq, was in Coimbatore and Madurai in Tamil Nadu.
