Yogi Babu Plays Lord Ganesha In The Fantasy Directed By Malayalam Director

Rejishh Midhila, a filmmaker in Mollywood who made his breakthrough with the Lal Bahadur Shastri movie starring Jayasurya, is excited to be making his first Tamil movie. Yogi Babu and Ramesh Thilak feature in the lead role in Yaanai Mugathaan, which he recently released the first look poster for.

“Both Yagi Babu and Ramesh Thilak play Ganesh, whose lives meet at a junction. Why do they meet, what purpose does it solve – these are what the film is about,” says Rejishh, adding, “This is a fantasy film – there is no VFX and stuff, but the thought behind the story has an element of fantasy. We all have a notion about God and how he appears and how he reacts in different situations. This film will touch on that topic. Yogi Babu plays Lord Ganesha in the film.”

It's interesting that the movie is a remake of his last Malayalam offering, Innu Muthal, which starred Siju Wilson. This is not a scene-for-scene reenactment and the makers have just taken the fundamental concept and expanded upon it as per the director.

“I showed the film to him, and he really liked it. We started work in December and now, the film is 98 percent done. We shot in Chennai and near Indo-Pak border in Rajasthan. The film also stars Oorvasi in a crucial role. Innu Muthal was released on OTT platform, but I will be releasing Yaanai Mugathaan in theatres, in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi. This is my fourth film and I have to admit, there’s a big thrill in big-screen releases,” he concludes.
