Yashoda, the Hari and Harish-directed film starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu, has generated a ton of attention ever since its release. The movie's initial trailer, which was published in May, looked eerie and hinted of an intense thriller. Now it is revealed that Yashoda was influenced by a real-life crime.
The film's directors, Hari and Harish, acknowledged in an exclusive interview that the crime depicted in the film is based on a real incidence. "A crime is taking place in the background of the tale without anyone in the society being aware of it. The crime we're presenting is based on a real-life incident, but we've given it a psychological thriller twist. When a typical girl hears of a crime, she is forced to confront it. The storyline is in how she reveals it", the producers claimed.
The directors also acknowledged that Samantha filmed a few sequences in Hyderabad's real slums. "The movie's slum section was filmed in actual neighborhoods in Hyderabad. We had to take safety precautions into consideration with an actor like Samantha, but Sam insisted and remarked, 'if this place will suit for the shoot, let's do it', and then it was easy for us to shoot there," directors revealed.
Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Unni Mukundan, Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma, Sampath Raj, Shatru, Madhurima, Kalpika Ganesh, Divya Sripada, Priyanka Sharma, and other actors also appear in the movie in addition to Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The movie has been postponed from its original August 12 release date. Yashoda's new release date will be revealed soon.
