Vijayakanth hospitalised after complaining of breathlessness

Yesteryear actor Vijayakanth is the founder of Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK). He along with his wife Premalatha has been overseeing the party work for the past few years. On May 19, Vijayakanth was rushed to a private hospital in Chennai after he complained of breathlessness. He was taken to the hospital in the wee hours of May 9, at around 3 am. A team of doctors are monitoring Vijayakanth and are now giving him treatment. As of now, there has been no update from the hospital regarding Vijayakanth's health.

A press release from the DMDK party says that Vijayakanth was admitted to the hospital for a general check-up. The press release read that Vijayakanth's health is stable now and is expected to get discharged in a day or two. They also requested everyone not to believe in rumors regarding his health. Last year, Vijayakanth and his wife Premalatha had tested positive for the novel coronavirus. They were hospitalized for a few days and were discharged on October 2, 2020. They were asked to be in-home quarantine till they test negative.
