Vijay and director Lokesh Kanagaraj are working together once more for the film with the working title Thalapathy 67. The movie is billed as a gangster thriller. Thalapathy 67 is also said to be a part of the "Lokesh Cinematic Universe." Following the muhurat puja in Chennai today, the movie reportedly began it’s production. The official announcement has not been made yet.
One of Kollywood's most eagerly awaited movies now is "Thalapathy 67". It has reportedly earned Rs 500 crore already from the pre-release bussiness. The movie will reportedly be shot in Kashmir and Munnar, and Vijay will begin filming his part in January.
According to earlier reports, Sanjay Dutt, Vishal, Nivin Pauly, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and Prithviraj Sukumar will all play important roles in the movie. The movie will feature numerous antagonists. Additionally, it is rumoured that Trisha will play the movie's female lead.
On the professional front, Vijay finished filming his bilingual movie Varisu and it is scheduled to hit theatres on January 12, 2023. Rashmika Mandanna plays the female lead in the Vamshi Paidipally directed film. Varisu also stars Prabhu, Sarathkumar, Prakash Raj, Shaam, Khushbu, Meena, Sangeetha Krish, Yogi Babu, and Samyuktha in supporting roles.
