Vijay donates Rs 1.3 crore to coronavirus relief efforts

Many celebrities have come forward to help battle the coronavirus pandemic. Kollywood actors Ajith, Sivakarthikeyan, Suriya, Karthi, and others have contributed to funds. Now actor Vijay has come out to donate Rs 1.3 crore to combat the coronavirus.

He donated money to many funds aimed at coronavirus relief. Here is the break up: 1) 25 lakh to the Prime Minister’s relief fund, 50 lakh to the Tamil Nadu CM relief fund 2) 25 lakh to FEFSI (Film Employees Federation of South India) 3) 10 lakh to the Kerala CM relief fund 4) 5 lakh to the Karnataka CM relief fund 5) 5 lakh to the Andhra CM relief fund 6) 5 lakh to the Telangana CM relief fund 7) 5 lakh to the Pondicherry CM relief fund as well. On the work front, Vijay is looking forward to the release of his film Master. Vijay's Master is one of 2020's most awaited film. The action thriller film was to hit the theatres on April 9th, 2020. However, the release date now stands postponed owing to the coronavirus outbreak. According to some sources, the film will hit the theatres on Vijay's birthday, the 22nd of June. On the other hand, there are also rumors of a Diwali release. Apart from Vijya, Master stars Vijay Thalapathy playing a lead role. The film also has an ensemble cast which includes actors Malavika Mohanan, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, Arjun Das, Andrea Jeremiah, and Ramya Subramanian. Xavier Britto is producing the film. Musicians Anirudh Ravichander is composing the film's score.
