Gautam Tinnanuri became famous with Nani's film Jersey. He also directed the Hindi version which was a flop at the box office. He was supposed to direct Ram Charan but that got canceled at the last minute. Post RRR, Ram Charan will release all his films pan-India wide, and for his films to get a good buzz, the director and his reputation are quite important. So, he opted out of the project.
Not many know that Gautam took the same concept to Vijay Devarakonda and the latter okayed the film in no time. But this created a new problem for Gautam. As he wanted to work with Charan, the production was also supposed to be handled by the mega hero. Now that he had backed out, Gautam was looking for a producer.
For weeks together, Gautam did not find a producer. Now, Vijay himself has landed in the scene and brought star producer Dil Raju into the picture. Vijay had already signed a film in Dil Raju's banner and was looking for a script. Now that Gautam had one, Vijay brought Dil Raju on board and the project is fixed now.
But as Gautam will be low with Jersey's failure, Vijay's film will not create that much hype unless Gautam makes a solid film. Also, Vijay is in bad form with Liger. So, how will the two who are under deep pressure make this film a hit? Only time will tell.
