Following the success of his films Raanjhana, Tanu Weds Manu, and Tanu Weds Manu Returns, Aanand L Rai was eager to return to the genre of a straightforward love narrative set against some action. Vicky Kaushal had adored the script and had formally accepted to appear in the movie. But the time now shows the actor being talked with by the director.
The paperwork was about to be completed, and everything was locked. Vicky's calendar was not in sync with Aanand L Rai's when he started working on the movie's dates. Vicky wanted to begin filming as soon as possible. But Aanand L Rai needed time for pre-production in order to get the movie into production by summer, the source told.
Vicky and Aanand L Rai have chosen to separate ways after a series of conversations, permutations, and combinations. "In summer, Vicky is hoping to start work on his ambitious Ashwathama with Aditya Dhar. He doesn't want to disturb the process of making this epic film and hence, decided to not be a part of the Aanand L Rai directorial," the source further added.
Now that he's back in the casting process, Aanand L Rai wants to use an actor from the newer generation.
Vicky Kaushal will most recently be seen in Shashank Khaitan's Govinda Naam Mera. he has a number of interesting projects in his line.
